This Post Is Brought To You By Kola

Maybe she is going stir-crazy from all the snow, although that would be strange in a house cat. Or maybe she is just crazy! Either way, Kola has been quite entertaining today as snow continues to blanket Wisconsin. She puts herself in the oddest positions.
I am glad that it is snowing on the weekend because we can't afford to lose any more school days. Making up the six days we missed is going to be painful enough. We are going to have some long days going forward.

Because this is perfect weather for casting on, I decided to start a second Free Your Fade. I wear my first one a lot, so I decided to make another. I've started with Wonderland Yarns Mary Ann in Victorian China (isn't that a great name?) and eventually I'll fade to Twisted Owl in Razz-Ma-Tazz.

Kola definitely approves of my Rambling Rows Afghan. At first, I thought it was a mistake to use two different colorways, but as it has gotten larger, I like the contrast. As you can tell, I have a long way to go.
Keith and I don't do Valentine's Day, but a student who graduated in June of last year popped into school with this:
That jar is filled with chocolate Kisses, which I am not sharing!

 And one last photo of Kola, who seems to be wondering why we keep waking her up from her nap to scratch her head.
It looks like the snow is slowing down, so tomorrow should be a school day!

    Kola is a cutie! All of my four have been extra silly and extra snuggly lately - I think it's spring fever!

    Kola is a sweetheart! The Rambling Rose afghan is stunning in those colors. I hope your week goes well and that the snow begins a slow melt to avoid flooding the area.

    Kola is darling! Tyg has been a bit crazy (of course, he also goes outside) lately - running all over, jumping in the bathtub and chasing his tail (which he never had done in the past), etc. Funny to watch.

    I know you have really been hammered with weather this Winter, but the view from your porch is gorgeous! I do hope you don't lose any more days.

    Your Free Your Fade is going to be great - love the yarns you are using. And that blanket is gorgeous too. I need to go look for that pattern since Colin wants me to knit a blanket for him.

    Love that kitty! And your new knitting projects, too. The schools here are petitioning to not have to do the full 180 days because of all the recent cancellations due to snow! It's not gone at our house yet although it is finally possible to get down our hill.

    Oooh! Love your Rambling Rows! It seems like the perfect, warm, snugly thing to knit while it snows. Your Free Your Fade will be lovely too. I've knit several of her faded designs and Free Your Fade is on my to-knit list.

    beautiful kitty and knitting. I have looked at free your fade but was afraid of how much weight 1000 yards would be to wear. I'll have to consider again because it's pretty.

    Your Rambling Rows will be gorgeous! I was just admiring that pattern a few days ago; I <3 mitered squares. But as I already have three (3!) afghans in progress, not to mention a mega sweater (Chartreuse by Thea Colman), it will be many moons before I can make an RR.

    Hoping the snow is lightening up. We're finally getting serious snow, just when I was ready for spring. But it is an excuse to stay home and knit this weekend. :)
