Late yesterday afternoon, I found myself at the endodontist (a word I'd never before encountered) expecting to get an emergency root canal, but the doctor there said the tooth was beyond saving. Thus, this morning, an oral surgeon removed the tooth.
I won't bore you with the details, but it's been a rough morning. At least I've had the perfect knitting: I just love the Land of Sweets cowl. It is mindless and fun -- something I can do while gulping down pain pills.
Reading is probably beyond my drug-addled brain today, but the hours are passing nicely while I knit to the audiobook version of Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. It's not great literature, but it is a good story, well told. It's the story of two households, one wealthy and one not, whose lives become entangled in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Oh, no! I'm so sorry about your tooth. I hope you're healing quickly and feeling better soon. Your Land of Sweets cowl really DOES look like a confection! :-)
ReplyDeleteJust hearing the word "endodontist" is enough to strike fear into my heart! I hope you're feeling much better very soon and can get back to knitting, reading, and a pain-free life.
ReplyDeleteYikes! i hope you will feel better soon now that the tooth is gone.
ReplyDeleteThe cowl is lovely - nice job.
MY gosh Deb ,so sorry. I fear I amright behind you on the tooth loss. Ive been having issues with a formerly root canaled tooth. Lots of pressure if I chew on it. I think it is going to have to come out. Trying to get past December if I can. It pulsates with pressure when I chew on it. I LOVE YOUR KNITTING
ReplyDeleteMust go with the territory; happened to me two summers ago. Are you replacing it? I plan to but still haven't gotten to step two of the implant process
ReplyDeleteOh, wow....that's just terrible. I had my front tooth broken off years ago by a hockey puck and it got infected under the bond. I had to have multiple procedures to save it. It was so painful. I hope you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteLove your colorful cowl so far! Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteAs far as I'm concerned, anytime they send you to an endodontist, it never ends well. (In the short run - in the long run, of course, you're better off ... but STILL!)
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Oh no! I hope that today you are a bit better! Sending you healing thoughts!
ReplyDeleteOh, there is nothing like dental work to send you to the pain pills!
ReplyDeleteI hope you bounce back soon! The knitting looks great considering the state you are in!
Oh yikes! So sorry to hear this. I'm one of the people who starts to feel pain just driving to the dentist...just to get a cleaning and x-rays done. Hope you are much improved now.
ReplyDeleteYour knitting is a delight! So pretty and cheerful. An ideal choice of yarn.
I am so very very sorry about your extraction. I know an endodontist well since my son had many root canals because of a tooth accident (it was traumatic for him and for me). may you heal!!
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! I hope your mouth is healing up and you are on less pain meds. Oral stuff is so painful!
ReplyDeleteYour cowl is coming along splendidly! So sorry you're having dental issues. They're the worst! Hope you're feeling better soon!
