Unraveled Wednesday

Another Knitvent project is gracing my needles. This is Helen Stewart's Tchaikovsky Hat in Sun Valley Fibers' DK.
A touch of insomnia has given me plenty of time to read The Paris Architect by Charles Belfoure. It's a fictional tale of a non-Jewish architect who finds himself hiding Jews during the occupation of Paris. I don't read much Holocaust fiction. Some of it is too depressing; some is too poorly written to do justice to its subject. This is a pretty reasonable book and quite readable.
Speaking of books, I have to admit that I hit the library book sale this past weekend. I left with a modest stack of books for a tiny price. It's a good thing I have winter break to make a dent in this pile!

Don't forget to check out Unraveled Wednesday!

  1. The hat is really pretty in that beautiful color. Teal? Turquoise? I can't tell but it's bright and beautiful.

  3. I hope when you read this note you sleep soundly at night that night. Lovely knitting and a pile of books is the best photo to see. I'm reading more (kitty on lap) and knitting a little less.

  4. Oh I used to love a library booksale as a kid! As I got older it was garage sales and the used book store. Now I try not to buy too many books. I do not read enough. :(

  8. Beautiful hat - agreeing with Kathy that it is a wonderfully cheerful color for the dark days of winter. Great finds at your library book sale. I avoided ours on purpose....still too many/so many books in the house that I have yet to read.
