Mid-Week Musings

Another hectic week at school is under way. I am still experiencing quite a bit of pain where my tooth used to be, but the discharge papers say that's normal. I do think it makes me more tired.

I have been trying to knit a few rows every day or two on my ZickZack scarf. It is slow-going, but I'm not minding that.
There are always new color combinations, which keeps it interesting.
Reading has been going slowly. I like to read before I fall asleep and lately sleep has been rushing in. I'm just beginning Lyndall Gordon's biography of Virginia Woolf.
I picked up The Illustrated Life, which shows sketchbooks from artists around the world, at used book sale sponsored by my local library. I started checking out these sales a year or so ago, and I have stumbled on amazing finds. This book was just $3, far less than the $19.99 it would have cost me new. And it's full of great art and interviews.

  1. I had four teeth pulled and a bridge placed there. For years I had the sensation of teeth being there --- even though I KNEW they weren't --- phantom pain (feeling). It's weird.

Hope yours goes away soon and you are feeling better.

  5. I love your Zick Zack scarf! I knit one last year, and it might be my favorite knit ever. I just love watching the colors do their thing -- it's endlessly entertaining. That Illustrated Life book looks intriguing! And what a great bargain. :-)

  6. That scarf is a work of art. I just went and bought that book myself for 2.95 used. I so admire people who can sketch. That gene eludes me.

  7. The scarf's color combinations are just really fun and beautiful. Pain management is absolutely draining. Be sure to get rest when you can. Keep yourself in good health.

  10. I am so sorry you are still hurting. UNfortunately Miss Pies exam today was still full of problems. Her extractions sight from 3 weeks ago is still inflammed. More antibiotics. And the biggest downer: she's lost more weight. She is eating like a piggy so why the weight losS? Im worried. Recheck with vet in 2 weeks. If no improvment they may go back into the gum, after a heart ultrasound echo for her loud murmur. She's only 4!!! Tmi. Sorry

  11. Ah pain is sooooo draining. It makes your everyday, very hectic life so much harder. You need to rest! I know that is hard with school and life, but try.

  12. Love your Zick Zack scarf color choices. That is a fun pattern. You're right that it goes slowly but stays interesting. So interesting how the yarn choice affects that, isn't it?
